One of Le Lab Lisieux Normandie missions is to offer and encourage international mobility through the Erasmus+ program. Every year, around a hundred young people are sent across Europe.
Launched in 1987, Erasmus+ is the European Union's flagship program dedicated to supporting the education, training, youth and sport sectors in Europe. Initially designed to facilitate the mobility of university students, Erasmus+ has evolved to include a variety of opportunities for different audiences, including youth exchanges, training courses for youth workers and the European Solidarity Corps.
Youth exchanges offer individuals aged 13 to 30 the opportunity to come together around specific themes for a set period of time, usually between 5 and 21 days. These programs promote intercultural learning, the development of social and personal skills, and encourage the active participation of young people in society.
Training courses are designed for youth workers, animators and educators who want to improve their professional skills. These courses, which can vary in length, focus on topics such as non-formal education methods, international project development, and organizational capacity building.
The European Solidarity Corps is a European Union initiative that offers young people the opportunity to volunteer or work on solidarity projects across Europe. These projects, which can last from a few weeks to several months, aim to meet community needs while enabling participants to develop their skills and gain valuable experience.
Education and training mobility programs aim to promote international exchanges for students, education professionals, trainees, apprentices, youth workers and young people themselves.
Organizations play a central role in creating these mobility experiences. By facilitating these opportunities, they strengthen their international outlook, develop their project management skills, diversify their funding sources and improve their ability to supervise and monitor the initiatives they support. In this way, they can offer more enriching career paths to students and professionals, while collaborating with international partners to design innovative projects.
This initiative offers organizations the opportunity to develop their expertise in international cooperation and strengthen their skills, while fostering the creation of innovative, high-quality results. Depending on the objectives pursued, the players involved and the impact sought, cooperation projects can vary in scale and scope, enabling activities to be tailored to specific needs.
The opportunities offered under this action are designed to support the EU’s major policy guidelines, in particular the “Education and Training 2020” cooperation framework and the European Youth Strategy.
The organizations will play a key role in improving the quality of education, training and support systems for young people in Europe, while promoting transnational learning and cooperation between authorities. They will also contribute to the development of evidence-based policies and the networks and tools needed to implement them.
Finally, their mission will be to strengthen young people’s involvement in democratic life and encourage active dialogue with political decision-makers.
