Le Lab with CA Lisieux

The U13 team of CA Lisieux, accompanied by their sponsors MFR de Lisieux and Le Lab Lisieux Normandie.

On the occasion of the international Guerlédan tournament, which will take place from June 13 to 15, Le Lab Lisieux Normandie is sponsoring the U13 team of CA Lisieux.

As the tournament approaches, CA Lisieux is looking for sponsors. Le Lab has therefore committed, through Melanie Pimparlet, to sponsoring the jerseys as well as the flags. Anne Blanchard, president of Le Lab Lisieux Normandie, explains the initiative: “We’re happy to help with this kind of thing—we’ve decided to play along and support the community spirit.” The team’s coach justifies the decision: “We wanted to make a statement—there will be a great atmosphere, especially since this is a highly sought-after tournament.”

Make a statement—indeed, the opportunity is ideal, as the young players will take part in a highly prestigious international tournament. Registration is based on application, and CA was selected due to its strong performance. The coach explains: “We’re already a good team playing at an elite level—we’re well ranked.” The club currently competes in Regional 1 and is coming off a win last weekend at the Lisieux tournament.

A high-level tournament

No fewer than 80 teams will take part in this tournament in Brittany, including big names from top European clubs as well as teams coming from the United States, such as Inter Miami. The team of former French international Blaise Matuidi will also be present. The tournament begins with a group stage: seven matches to play. The top two teams from each group will qualify directly for the final rounds, which will take place in Pontivy. The remaining five teams will continue in the tournament, but will no longer be in contention for the title.

At this age, football is played on a half-size pitch and teams are made up of 8 players. The coach shares his ambitions with us: “The goal is to finish fourth in the group stage.” These tournaments are also an opportunity to meet other teams and build connections, for example, to organize friendly matches.

Les adversaires

In the group stage, the young players of CA Lisieux will face the following teams in succession: Soccer Guadeloupe – Stade Brestois – Stade Briochin – Les Herbiers (Vendée) – Pays Château-Gontier – FC Lie – Baud FC. These are big names in football: Stade Brestois played in the Champions League this year, and teams such as Les Herbiers and Stade Briochin have made a name for themselves in the French Cup in recent years. Finally, Soccer Guadeloupe brings together the best players from the island.
